BIG ROOM

This room is for 20-month-olds to 5-year-olds. In here again, the mixed ages is key to the children’s development and sense of community, an integral part of the Montessori philosophy. When you come to have a look around you will see how it works and why it is so important.

This room is very definitely divided into the different areas of learning. The younger children in this room will spend time working on the practical life activities and early sensorial. The older children will be working with the more complex practical life, sensorial, maths, language and cultural materials.  

All of the children in this room have access to large creative and art area where the children are encouraged to explore different materials and textures and to express themselves through different mediums of art.
